**Minnesota Rising Council Leadership Track Pre-Session
One of the core purposes of Minnesota Rising is engaging the leadership of existing emerging leader and young professionals groups in relationship-building and information-sharing. As such, we want to invite you to join us for a special pre-conference session to get to know other leaders working to “Make Our Mark On Minnesota”. Come lay the foundation for the rest of the conference by gathering for coffee and exploring key shared experiences and challenges we face as leaders of these groups. We would like this to be a more intimate conversation, so we ask that each group send one or two interested representatives. Please RSVP to Kelly Rowan, and also let us know what one or two topics you would most like to explore in this setting. Potential topics that have arisen so far include:

• What are the motivators for involvement of young professionals – what does this market look like? How, with this information, do we engage and retain these folks in the volunteer sector?
• Meetings and events: are there certain parts of town or types of venues that are more appealing to our members?
• Communications and outreach: texts versus Facebook versus emailing, etc
• Competition: We all work with the same demographic and with somewhat similar aims – is it valuable to expand the pot of engaged emerging leaders with the sense that they will move from group to group and benefit from the larger pool, rather than our own individual organizations?
